Guild Wars 2 needs epic battles that take an hour to do. That involve large amounts of land, not standing still, and a huge enemy/s.
Something that isn't farmed, but if you can last the entire event, you can get a pretty sweet prize.
Okay, here is a great idea!
Like a WvW map that only lasts for 30 minutes.
- So you want to defend just as much as capture
- It forces groups to split up so they can defend and capture at the same time.
- In order to build the siege, you have to get supply from the locations you own on the map. So the more locations you own, the more supply to build siege.
- In order to use siege on the World Boss, you have to protect Dolyaks who will deliver ammunition, but are getting attacked by little minions of the World Boss.
On set intervals, mini-bosses will spawn at specific parts around the map. Killing these mini-bosses will grant the entire server a boon or set of boons that will make it easier to kill the World Boss.
With the World Boss in the middle of the map, and all the Castles and Keeps spread out around it in a circle, it will be easier for parties to go to and from the battle when needed.
If the World Boss is defeated, everyone gets an achievement. Actually, there are a set of achievements, because achievements are one of the coolest aspects of Guild Wars 2.
- For winning the initial WvW battle.
- For defeating the World Boss.
- For defeating each of the mini-bosses once.
- For protecting supply dolyaks X times.
- For building X siege on the map.
- For dealing X amount of siege damage to the world boss.
If you get all the achievements, you get a nice title.
The first time you defeat the World Boss, you get a special backpack, because everyone loves cool backpacks. Afterwards, the loot is fairly standard.
I think this would be super cool and a cool way to blend WvW and PvE together, and quite possibly get more PvE'ers into WvW.
